Creativity
and discipline through drumming,
culture, expectation, instruction, and
demonstration
Focused
attention and order allows for skill development and
cultural appreciation.
Spiritual
energy, manly expectations, and boyhood exuberance make
each camp a successful experience for the boys and for their
instructors.

Let Us Bring
a Camp to Your Community
AHED is the brainchild of two fathers whose sensitivity
to the needs of family, including their own, put tremendous pressure on
their abilities to establish meaningful, righteous and consistent
relationships with boys in their cultural communities, and with their
mothers and fathers. Drumming is seen as a powerful medium in which to
teach discipline, ethics, order, Moyo or spiritual energy and manhood.
This combination of need, ability and method led to the formation of
AHED. Baba Jamal Koram and Baba Kalajojo Starling started the work
during the past 10 years to serve as brothers, fathers, advisors and
teachers to boys ages 7- 18 and to influence their lives to productivity
and responsibility. During the past seven years, Baba Jamal, Baba Jomo Kenyatta Henry
and others, have picked up the banner and continue to contribute immensely to
the camp process.
